Nathanael Lamp is a painter working in acrylic and oil. He paints portraits and other figurative-based pieces as well as landscapes and still life. His subjects are typically rooted in real life but expressing themes of memory, nostalgia and family both past and present.

In Nathanael’s process, memories and photographs are re-examined through his daily experiences of being a father and husband. He keeps his brushwork loose and expressive and does not adhere too tightly to natural realism. Proportions or perspective appear slightly skewed and colour may be vivid and exaggerated so as to express mood or emotion and to retain a painterly, human quality.

He holds a Bachelors of Fine Art degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio where he was born.

Nathanael lives and works in the UK.
